The pheasant is magnificent. My heart skipped a beat when I first saw it. Does it conceal an interior glass 'pot' for a condiment? What function does it serve? It is highly desirable, and it is also most beautiful! If it is a table appointment, I am green with envy. Just green with envy.
Agree with mikko, the pheasant is fantastic. Silverplate doesn't receive the attention it deserves. There are some magnificent pieces out there-- thanks for sharing yours!

The pheasant just stands on the table, He has lost much of the plating, but under is copper or brass, and makes a nice color, I actually like this better than if he were bright silver. thanks for writing! Lots of the time I do not know if I have something good or bad! haha
Like the rest of us here, we learn by our encounters. I learn many things every time I log onto CW! So many things to know!
I just know that I've craved one of these silver birds for table for years. I refuse to buy one, but my virtue doesn't extinguish my admiration for them. So glad that you have this. It's wonderful.
Thank you, miKKo It did not cost hardly anything, I guess with the silver plating coming off over time they sold it for $3.95 at thrift store to help cats. You are a good friend! Keep in touch! I will send to you! for your name is miKKoCHRISTMAS!! 11 I will mail on 11th Dec.!! Promise! Keep in touch!! your friend toracat!!
Hi, toracat! Thanks so very much for your kind words and generous offer to give me the pheasant. I am honored, sir. I fear, however, that I could not accept it. These are rather valuable. No, it is a treasure, and I couldn't deprive you of it, sir. It is wonderful, and I'm so glad that you have it. I'm also glad that you shop at the cat thrift. The animals needed us before the economy went south, and now they need us even more. So many cats and dogs have been abandoned. It is terrible. God bless you for your kindness to the gentle animals! Take care.
miKKo can have the bird, I like the spoon :-)
Art Deco & the female form what could be better!
miKKo can have the bird! I love the spoon, As for the bird, with losing its plating, I really do not think it is very valuable, I have another pheasant, from garage sale, it is glass, and I just bought from auction a bronze Buddha head and some kind of India Diety Goddess. She is more beautiful than the bird! miKKo you have my email! send me an address where I can send this bird, I do not want to wait for Christmas! bye for now! toracat
