This is another lamp I just bought. Was wondering about the maker of these lamps. Very very old. The only marking on it is near the sockets and says Benjamin 250w. I have no idea what that means. It appears to be all original but needs a new cord. The cord is cloth and the plug looks kind of scary, I dont really trust it. But it worked when I plugged it in. Nothing blew up or caught on fire. Lol. Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Anna.

Benjamin made lamp parts, but not whole lamps. Many of these "Arts and Crafts" style lamps were made by lamp companies, but quite a few were made by High School students in shop class. Some of them are very good and sought after by collectors. Yours is nice and I would say worth in the area of $250.00-350.00

This is a gorgeous lamp! You can easily find new "old looking twist cloth" cords at better or specialty hardware stores. The plug is probably bakelite and can still be used if it isn't chewed up or split. On the other hand - hey, if it doesn't sizzle....why worry? I have one made in a shop class. It didn't have a shade as lovely as your lamp. I had to rewire mine and eventually found the right shade for its proportion. I love it - your lamp is very lovely.
