i love the old english sewing etuis that i see on ebay -- but a thousand dollars a pop -- just is not in the cards for me -- so being the little red hen that i am -- i decided to design and make my own -- of course my chicks have long since left the nest -- but i have ted -- sometimes he can be such a kid -- ok autumn get on with it and do what you came to do -- post the etui
on this one i used a bohemian cut glass hinged egg trinket box -- purchased some antique sewing tools -- on ebay -- where else -- the tweezers are new and the little blue strawberry i made and filled with mt st helene's ash for sharping needles -- ash and sand are great for sharping -- but not for storing needles as they rust due to the moisture the contents pick up from the humidity in the home -- i thought i was such a clever one when it came to me to put a tiny magnet in the bottom of the seam ripper and then another in the thimble -- solves the problem of the thimble falling out when you open the egg -- it is really hard to be a cool cat when your on hands and knees on the floor searching for the dang thimble -- attached the berry to the scissors with a tassel -- everyone knows who that pair of scissors belongs to in class

Hi Epson
A stunningly created Bohemian flash cut glass Etui from around the late 19th century. Cobalt blue glass is one of my favourites and a great piece
