Hello, This tray is 7.8 lbs. I cut off 3 pieces with a steak knife to test for sterling, see 4th photo, and left 2 hrs. and positive? Also I bought because of weird hallmark? Please help to identify it if you can! One last thing I noticed, the hallmark on plated is usually stamped into metal, this looks like they poured silver in a glob and then hallmarked? Well I am not excited, it is probably plated but caught my interest! Maybe silver over copper! I would still make $ as copper is worth maybe $3 a pound! haha any help appreciated! Don

Bon chance! I won the lotto once. $4.00. Ticket cost $2.00. So $2.00 ahead if we don't figure in the devaluation of the currency.

I am hoping! But probably not sterling! It is interesting tray with raised hallmark? Thanks!

      No lion = no sterling

Hi I looked all over for this hallmark! That is why I put it on here, I can not find it any place. As far as the lion, there are 100's of pure silver marks around the world with no lion. And trays and etc. with jungin Japan mark? No lion and .950, and coin silver trays, no lion, (I will post a coin silver 800 tray in next few days).

Hi photo 4 is acid test from three parts I cut off with steak knife, It tested + but my test fooled me before but usually is accurate.

I have another that is coin 800 silver, I will post in a few days, it is smaller, weighs 2 1/2 lbs. I think it was made in Germany or Norway? I will keep it, I now must find out that hallmark! It is probably plated, my test kit is usually right, I have about 50 things I am researching, very frustrating when you can not find the correct answer. This C.Weekly has helped a lot! I just got a beautiful woman bronze with no hallmarks, will post tomorrow! Need help with it also! Thanks Geno, you are a very special friend!! Don
