I think its settled that this bottle is from China. From what year and its rarity is where my trouble lies at the moment.

Judging by the logo in the last picture , COKE with the wave beneeth it, it's from the 70's. It may be fairly rare in North America but there are probably lots of them in China.

Coke was banned in china until the mid 80s as it was considered a symbol of capitalism. The ban was lifted 10 years after the death of Mao.

Coca-Cola was introduced in China in 1978. I'm guessing that Chairman Mao drank a few ice cold Cokes before that! :) Here's a nifty timeline site sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company. Fascinating stuff.

Sorry, got the dates wrong. Mao died in 76 so his bad teeth wasn't due to drinking too much of the stuff! lol

Well you were right though, Coke didn't come into China until after Mao died. Talk about a tough market to crack! Still to this day not easy. But I think it says something about the company and the product that it was able to get in relatively early. Eastern tastes being different, Coke is not a huge market developing in China, even with all those people. Mexico, South America is where the action is current.
