      This is a WW2 German NSKK flyer's helmet.

      That would be even better, but not practical for flying. Motorcycle helmet for sure.

      It is definitely a first model Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps (NSKK) (Sturzhelm) crash helmet according to the label, and it is dated 1936, which is really cool. I seem to remember that grey/blue NSKK helmets were used by flyers and as I look closer at this one, it probably is black in spite of my first impression.
