A Century of Progress International Exposition was the name of a World's Fair held in Chicago from 1933 to 1934 to celebrate the city's centennial. The theme of the fair was technological innovation. The fair's motto was "Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Conforms"; its architectural symbol was the Sky Ride, a transporter bridge perpendicular to the shore on which one could ride from one side of the fair to the other.

This size 12 pocket watch was made by Ingersoll Watch Co. circa 1933 to commemorate the Chicago World's Fair. On the dial, it has one single word 'Progress' underneath the maker's logo. The case back is embossed with the Fair's modern architectural structurals and the words 'CENTURY OF PROGRESS 1833 - 1933 CHICAGO'. The watch bezel also has art decor style details.

For comparison, I have also posted another style and slightly larger 1933 Chicago World's Fair pocket watch by Westxlox here :

Thanks for sharing. Love the back on this version! I think the dial has been re-finished. Still a great piece just wanted to let you know.

Thanks Adam for the appreciation! You have excellent eye sight! lol Some of the numerals 1-12 could have been touched up at some stage (slight over run of black paint in places under the loop) but the maker's logo and the word progress still looking rather crisp!
