This manual wind chronograph wristwatch was made by the Swiss manufacturer, Ollech & Wajs, circa 1970. The company started manufacturing wristwatches from retail space in Zurich in 1956, specialized in automatic and manual-wind mechanical military and diver watches. O&W finally ended production in the early 1980s. During the first season of the 1970's British television series 'The Professionals', actors Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins wore what appear to be Ollech & Wajs Caribbean 1000 wristwatches.
This chronograph is powered by a Valjoux 72 caliber movement, same movement used for the iconic 70's Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Reference 6263 wristwatches. It is of course not in the same league as the Rolex but I get to wear a Valjoux 72 at a fraction of the cost!
