Art Glass Bird - with Purple Swirls

A little birdie with some purple swirls inside him. About 5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide. His wings are slight pulled pinched areas. Solid weight and the base has some wear to it. Hard to photograph.

I thought maybe Chinese but it was suggested since the edges on the bottom are slightly *chamfered* (edged) that is NOT something seen in Chinese pieces......So back to the drawing Board

Any ideas -- Anyone?
