My parents got this when i was a kid. I've always liked it and they gave it to me when i was home vacationing last week. it's from the Enfield Shaker Community. I like how the inside is a different color green than the outside. apparently, the diamond-shaped piece is a sign of Shaker craftsmaship. it's so well made that i've used it to hold water. I was looking at it tonight and i think i found some initials in the bottom of it. Something like an S X. i wonder if this was the name of the maker or the owner. It's so beautifully made. I found some similar ones which had sold at auctions for a surprising amount. Any experts in Shaker furniture out there? I'm wondering if it is a known signature.

You are right about the diamond. These were also made and sold in Enfield, CT but without the diamond design holding the bail. That is where people need to use caution when they buy.
thanks flhrjr2! this is from the Enfield, NH Shaker Community.
I could never have imagined saying this, but that is a really lovely bucket.
thanks racer4four!
i've got to post better pics of this. the colors are really really nice on it and they don't show in these ones.
