Hi, this is an oil painting I remember being in our home when I was younger but has been in my dads attic for the last 30 years, its painted on canvas, I gather paint applied maybe with a knife rather than a brush, its detail is fantastic of the old man. Can anyone tell me who the artist is please as I cannot identify the name and I would love to know more about this painting and the artist. Many thanks

Could be a print also, they made a lot of them with raised oil backing on thick paper which they were able to do as early as 1910 on postcards also. They used to call them "oilette."

I know what your saying but no it's a proper oil painting on canvas, I was hoping someone could identify the signature really that's all. The PIC is dark but when I tilt the screen I can clearly see it, but I will try and get a better picture. Thanks anyway though.
