Yesterday I had almost picked up a nice large cent from the 1840s. $35.
Well, I decided, "I will wait until I find one under $35."

So what do I see today in an antique store? 2 large cents.

1 was damaged and $10. I went for the more pricey one at $16, which is a little below what they have sold for in the last month online (in similar condition).
And I found it so ironic.

The Large Cent was used from 1793 to 1857. This is the radically different later design, begun in 1839.

Had I stepped up to buy the early dime or very early nickel, you'd have been more impressed. :P

Spirit. It appears that CW has just been invaded by children with their current toys ! Pretty much ruining CW for me. I've "drummed" a few off before but it's just getting to be way too much ! I'll stop by & see if things get better in the future. I want to see interesting "collector's" items instead of other people's junk. A bientot !

Everything people buy can be collectible. Toys lead to reminiscence. Your leaving will lead to mass depression and despair. :P

If I stay & have to weed thru new toys to get to real collectibles for hrs., I might go crazy & end out in Battle Creek !!!
Just pulled the steel pin out of my toe yesterday & can now, maybe, escape the toy car invasion. Need to build my legs up anyway.

First Western I read: The Lost Wagon Train, by Zane Grey. Santana(?) did that to the wagons. :P
