The item displayed is a three gallon gray stoneware jug.
I was fortunate to locate the jug in Bloomfield N. J. about 3 months ago.
The jug has a antique oval label , LIBERTY 1776 (with a star on either side liberty) and has what appears to be a colonial soldier standing right with unlegable words on the right. To my beat ability, it appears to be of the period circa 18 th century and looks a bit primitive in shape.
I welcome any and all information pertaining to this item.
