All we know is that around 1952 my Father found it underneath the church rectory in Ohio when remodeling was being done and my Mother begged the priest for it. She had it covered around 1960 and it still has that fabric on it. It was in poor shape when she got so assuming it is pre-1940 at the latest. I've had no luck identifying.
One upholster's guess it might be a sling style rocker, but wasn't sure. It has material down the back (not wood) and material lining under the seat portion. We feel the arm connection ornament has a unique design. We do not believe the foot stool came with it originally, but are not certain.
If anyone can tell me if they have any idea on a style or year, that would be great. I want to recover it in style and period appropriate material.
