PLEASE ENLARGE THE PHOTO...Folks and kiddies visit Los Angeles Ostrich Farm about 1920 and kids take an exciting ride with an ostrich as navigator!! They can run really fast!!
This is a real candid photo of long ago. Isn't it cute? In my photo collection. (Which is constantly growing!)

Looks like fun! But where is the adult driver/attendant? Can you imagine today's lawsuit if the ostrich suddenly bolted and started running and crashed the carriage! [;>)

You are so right. That operator was taking a huge chance!! My friend has a farm not far from me with all kinds of rides and animals (they do school field trips for kids, etc) But she won't let the kids near the ostrich--to0 mean!!

I've heard that about ostriches! Nothing like how they're depicted in cartoons,....... docilely sticking their heads in the sand! [;>)

I saw Mike and Frank get chased by one on "American Pickers"(TV show)--and they were really scared!
