Here are some of the letter openers from my Trench Art Collection.

All of these are made from the copper driving bands from Artillery Shells.

    From top to bottom:
    1. 10" long
    2. 7" long, with Iron Cross and Wreath engraving and "14/17", a bullet was used for the guard
    3. 8", POW camp made and engraved with "Saint- Nazaire" and "1109 P. of W. 1918"
    4. 4 1/2" long
    5. 6" long with leaf shaped end
