This looks like scrimshaw but I'm not sure if it is or maybe an engraving of some type ....measures approximately 13.75"h x 10.75" w. It has the year 1565 at the bottom and boat has 1564 on it and a name is can't make out. When you hold it up to the light it glows a bit I tried to show in last picture. It's 1/8th of inch thick whatever it's on its pretty solid ...not wood maybe some kind of hard plastic? Any ideas on what I have would be appreciated.

I was going to guess VOC (Dutch East India Co.) but just a few yrs. too early.

Cast resin (plastic) I don't think they engraved the plastic, but molded the engraving.
