ruby red glass dish very old

this was a part of my mothers cherished red glass collection that she did not even have on display. she loved this piece. i wish i could have asked her about it before she lost her fight to cancer earlier this year on my birthday. i don't know much about glass but the color of this makes me think of cherry jello. and i also dont' know if there was ever any glass casted in sand but the backside reminds me of sand casted motor parts. any help in the id of this would be greatly appreciated. thnak you
