I think that I much prefer this story over the stork dropping off cellophane-wrapped babies (Dupont put out a set of ads saying that the best things come wrapped up in cellophane, which featured a stork and cellophane-wrapped babies in the 1940s(?)).
Mailed May of 1909, in this card (given on a birthday) we see two parents hand-selecting which is to be their darling child, taken care of up to now by a loving farmer.
