    GMB or the Gladding McBean pottery is the oldest and largest commercial pottery [including lots of art pottery] on the west coast. i have no idea what this piece is all about - but it looks like a publicity thing. i wonder when it was made?

      Cool item - one I haven't seen before. I think you are probably right that this is a promotional item. My guess from looking at the back, this is a newer (post-1990) piece.
