Hello, I am a new member. I have come into possession of a number of Netsuke purchased by my father from market stalls and car boot sales here in the UK since the 1970's. This is one example. I have been informed that the inscription says ???Masayuki. As regards it authenticity, i'm unsure. I have seen schreger lines, denoting ivory. Just hoping it is pre 1940. Any further information would be great.

He is wonderful and does look like my ivory ones carved ivory from Wooly Mammoth which is only legal Ivory to sell .
