INTRASTATE TEL CO buried cable warning sign

This old underground cable warning sign was found in a ditch alongside a country road in central IL 25+yrs ago, after it had basically rusted itself off of its post. INTRASTATE TELEPHONE COMPANY was the last incarnation of a 'monopoly' (landline) telephone utility in the area at the time, slightly before gov't de-regulation of the telephone industry then the birth/boom of cellular technology changed the whole idea of "the phone company" forever. It measures 14" x 20".
