I am restoring an old gas station in Windsor California and have only this photo to go from. I would like to purchase the pumps (in unrestored condition) and any other items/props you guys think would fit. And can someone tell me what the sign said on the front post? Is it a water hose?

looks like it says OPEN to me.

I think it does say "OPEN" - you're right. Another question: would one pump be face one way (for cars pulling under portico) and the other pump face out toward steet?

Not sure about that, my guess is that they would both face out for advertising purposes and have readouts on both sides. There are more knowledgeable people on here that hopefully will see your post and let you know. Welcome to C.W.!

Says "BEER" but I don't remember ever stopping there.

What a wonderful project!! You must be sooo excited about that!! Is the structure still standing? I assume that is a old vintage photo you have, is it a real photo post-card? I wish you the best of luck finding all the things and then some!!

I'll post more pics -- current pics. It's all there but the gas paraphernalia. I think it would make a great barber shop.

      They date it circa 1935.
