Little antique silver handled dish. I thought it may be a wine taster but I don't know why it would have a raised centre. Stamped R with two other stamps, plus 40 and sterling. In original box. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it is a bedchamber candle holder

Thanks for your help. The centre is raised though so there isn't a recess to hold the candle, it does look like a candleholder though.

Pretty dish. I don't see how it can be a chamber stick ... where would you put the candle , although it does look like one. Waiting to see if there is an expert in the house. I tried hard to fine a similar one this morning.

I believe the actual recess where the candle sits is detachable, and in your case is missing. I think it would sit onto the central stem.
