Hello.. I recently purchased this ring along with 3 others from a flea market. The seller knew nothing about it other than it was old. They were dark and tarnished until I cleaned them. As seen in the photo the others cleaned up nicely, but this one turned gold. Can anyone give me a history or an explanation of how it looks gold after polishing?

I forgot to add that it doesn't stick to a magnet, so I'm not sure if it's a sterling plated metal, or if the STERLING Stamp is a maker, not necessarily the metal.. and input will be greatly appreciated!!
This is a Vargas enamel band ring :-) google images to see lots of them.
Gilded silver tarnish too, specially when kept for a long time in a drawer with other tarnishing pieces.
Your cleaning restored the vermeil shine.
