I have finally got round to looking through a bag of stones that I have collected over the last few years of rooting around in the bottom of jewellery cabinets and looking for bits & bobs, I am wondering if anyone can tell me more about this stone I have picked out.

Yes this is a special stone, I think it could be lemon quartz but not sure, oval shaped but finely cut on both sides which I thought was unusual.

Thanks jiman, they look great now they are all clean except the broken ones , I think this one might be yellow ceylon sapphire. It's quite big and because of the shape I am wondering if it might be as old as deco.

Thanks val I think that's where I got the idea it might be ceylon sapphire. But a expert should know more than a guess. Or so I thought but I posted this a month ago.
