This is a very cool item. The powder puff derby was an annual flying event for women that began in the first half of the 20th century. At that time flight was a fairly new and it was uncommon for women to be pilots. Amelia Earhart was one of the early members of the derby along with other renowned female pilots over the years. If anyone can give me info on this pin I would be grateful. I purchased it from an estate in Iowa.
