This either was given to us as a gift from someone's holiday or we found it in a charity shop but what caught my eye was the fish on its side and since it's a fruit bowl I'm not sure what a fish has to do with fruit! There's only one stamp on the bottom which is faded- we can't tell if it says 'Russia' 'Prussia' or 'Persia'. Any Ideas?

It's from Indonesia and likely made as a soup bowl.

Is that it? We always guessed it was a fruit bowl- the size is big! and the stamp though faded and is hard to make out in the photo seems to have a name beginning with a 'P'?

I think this is TUNISIA. A motif from the Mediterranean basin was used.

Thanks rrrigo, that's why I thought it was Mediterranean for so long.
