i always pick up vintage trivets, bowls, etc. made of tiles like this one. My dad used to make really nice ones in the 1960s when he was in the Secret Service. Apparently the Secret Service had really great craft studios at their disposal back then. not sure if they still do or not.
The tiling on this trivet is so interesting, makes me think of a crossword puzzle. Your dad had a fascinating job, did not know they had a crafts workshop for them, I assume it was a de-stress recreation - Jenni
