Original Hippie Era "Peace Corps" Protest Helmet

This original Hippie Era "Peace Corps" Protest Helmet came out of an estate in Florida - which of course, does not mean it was created in the retirement capital of the East. Large crudely painted Peace Symbols adorn the front and the play on words, "Peace Corps" is on the back. On the side is "First In" - perhaps for a campus building occupation, certainly not a military reference. Interesting - not a standard United States helmet as usually found - it has the appearance of being an old European issue. Dad's war souvenir?
