Picked this piece up at an auction extremely cheap. A very knowledgeable Blenko collector later told me it was a piece made for and sold through the Biltmore Estate in NC. I've been trying to more research but I haven't seen one like it yet. Was made in 1981. Missing the stopper unfortunately.

This is the second Blenko piece I have purchased at an estate sale, quickly becoming a Blenko fan. If you have additional info/history on this piece, please let me know.

I do know that Don Shepard passed away after a car accident maybe in the late 60's or early 70's?

I own this one mine is numbered.
Glassdoc from Blenko Blog also owns, she has a stopper I do not.
The story I received was 50 were made, it is in the same design as the #1 birthday vase designed by Blenko. It was sold by Biltmore and Kaufman Dept Store
      available in crystal and blue.
I paid $100 which Glassdoc said was a very reasonable price.
      Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info! Where is yours numbered? I don't think mine is. Is yours signed like mine? I paid $5 for mine at an auction!
