Cast Iron . I'm guessing this might go on top of some kind of container to pour the liquid out. Any ideas as to it use, age and origin appreciated.

Base for a revolving waffle iron that sits on a wood stove.

      Thank you Slackjack y
That would explain the hinged waffle iron with 3 foot handles welded to it. Any idea as to its age or origin.

I have this same waffle maker. This picture is of the base- the long-handled waffle grid pieces sit on this base over a heat source like a wood burning cook stove or a gas burning modern stove.
Properly seasoned, the waffles turn out perfectly. I hope you put it to use-I find them fun to use!
