    this apparently looks to be made out of Walnut it has a windmill painted on it and appears to have lilies painted on the seat Sabre legs Splat back unknown anybody has any ideas

      Pictures of flowers don't help date a chair, they could have been added anytime. The construction and joinery does.

      I would definitely agree on that but if you look at the paint a photos are on the peace the crack is kind of nice I like the paintings with all the crack finish on it it's nice in itself the paintings were put on long ago the problem I have I can't put the style of the Splat back and the sabre legs into any category is it a yoke bat what style is the top of the back rest I can't find nothing that looks close to that style appears to be Walnut harder than hell and Light I wish I could find what style Splat back is so that way I could categorize the chair itself any ideas Style

      I know you can fake crack and paint jobs but I believe this to be a very old cracked finish from heat and age

      Yes I do too I like the way the cracks developed in the paint I would like to have a picture blown up large size to hang on the wall just for the texture that you see and all the cracks in the age to paint I find that very interesting
