This is a 1938 full Nazi marked K98 Mauser that I recently inherited from my Uncle who unfortunately passed away recently from a battle with cancer... I wasn't even aware he had one and I was thrilled that my Aunt let me have it. It's not the way I would have liked to get one as my uncle was a funny and nice man but I am thrilled to be able to add it to my collection and remember him when I shoot it or just admire it.
These are really great guns from my limited experience with them. The Germans didn't replicate the M-1 because they didn't they didn't like them. Same scenario on the Thompson, m-1 carbine, BAR, Reising etc. . Not practical.
Have you fired it yet ? These are great rifles ! The Germans couldn't decide if the kar was an assault or a defense weapon, so they invented the Stg44 to solve the issue. Makes one wonder what the diff. is between an assault weapon & a defense weapon ?
No I haven't fired it yet, I just got it a week ago and haven't had time.
