    No maker marks, no inscription on pic.
    Appears to be brass.
    Who are these ladies? What era? I would love to identify these ladies in this original vintage photograph as well.

      Photo looks like late 1800s to early 1900s, maybe about 1900-1910. Perhaps a widowed mother (she's in black) and daughter. If there is no inscription on the photo, there is probably no chance you will ever know who they are. Frame looks modern. Maybe someone just stuck an old photo in a newer frame for an "antique"effect.

      Agree, modern frame and 1890s- 1920 on the image. I don't see mourning garb-- sometimes a black outfit is just a black outfit.

      What format is the photo? A jpg of the back of the actual image may help to narrow the date.
