I purchased this clock yesterday from an estate sale but have no information about it. There isn't a maker's mark or patent number anywhere on it. The only identifying mark is the number 25 carved on the inside as well as on the back of the clock. It keeps time however does not seem to want to ring on the hour or half hour. If anyone has any information about it please let me know!!

Great clock! A possible Mauthe brand clock from Germany. It looks so similar to my parents Grandmother clock (early 1960s), which I posted today March 28, 2021.

My parents bought the Grandmother clock from Herbert Meyer Store in Augsburg, Germany 1961-ish while stationed there (Army).

Take it to a clock shop & they'll get it running. May cost upwards $350.00 - worth it! I use old English liquid furniture oil on the the wood to keep it hydrated. Check around, may be there's something better.

I give credit to newcombe67 at https://www.collectorsweekly.com/user/newcombe67 who posted to https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/214942-grandfather-clock-german-made-circa-1912?in=loved-by-Alfie21 that his clock is a Mauthe & Looks like mine. Yours looks to be from the same craftsmen from Mauthe.
