19th century American writers:
Top Right: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Top Left: Oliver Wendell Holmes
Bottom Right: Ralph Waldo Emerson
Bottom Left: John Greenleaf Whittier
These writers were part of a group referred to as the "Fireside poets".

I buy and sell antique photos, so I have fairly good recall on many famous folks of the 19th century.
In this group, I didn't know Whittier's face-- so it took a few minutes to run him down by association.
