It is certainly a pretty rosewood cabinet, but it is *really* also an actual harmonium (reed organ) in addition to being a square grand piano? I've seen lots of both of those over my years, but can't say I think I've ever seen the two combined into one...?? Also, it seems doubtful to me there'd actually be enough room in that box (maybe an upright piano case?) for both to fit, nor do there seem to be any of the extra controls/etc. that would operate anything other than a piano action...??

Yes, this has the built in reed organ feature, it makes it especially rare and desirable. Instruments like this would have been the most expensive, high-grade instrument one could buy in the mid 19th Century, and they are definitely of museum caliber today. They deserve the finest restoration and preservation available. 10 years ago I was told this would be worth $35,000 restored. Im posting more pics so that you can see the reed organ!

Hi. I know this is a long shot, but I acquired one of these, a Gilbert square grand piano/harmonium through an inheritance. It's in pieces in a humongous barn with approximately 30 other harmoniums and large console pipe organs. I was able to get rid of some before the property sold, and am keeping the Gilbert for myself. In gathering the many pieces, I am looking for the harmonium attachment. Would anyone have pictures of the bottom of this instrument? I need a few clues for what I should be looking for. Any help or photographs you've got, I'd love to hear/ see. Thanks so much!

Thank you! That was quick! Does the right foot pedal operate thre bellows? Would you happen to have more pictures? There are so many parts to so many instruments in this barn that I need to know exactly what I'm looking for. What an undertaking!

I own a Gilbert piano organ and want to sell it asap. They were made for only three years after Gilbert had bought out the a organ company called J.S. Ivers and built the organs into the piano These were not add on features.. I want to get rid of it asap. It needs work. New veneer, the baffles have dried out and the fret work for the music sheets it damaged.
