Said I’d stop buying trunks but couldn’t resist this one at ye olde auction last night.

Headley and Farmer was an American trunk Company that dates back to 1842 in Newark N.J. Which was one of the centers of trunk manufacturing industry . These trunk latches and hardware were used from around 19o5 onward. Many American manufacturers tried to emulate some of the fashionable styles, that french trunk manufactures were producing during this time period. This could be one of their attempted versions.
