Prohibition era, bonded whiskey pint; bottled in Spring of 1916. My Great Grandfather had a few cases left over from prohibition, and what remained throughout the years was passed along to family.

I am curious as to the rarity of this bottle, any provided information is much appreciated.

Does anybody know when 4/5 quart became a standard measure for liquor ? I did a little search and couldn't find out when.

This is a nice example of prohibition-era medicinal whiskey distilled at the H.S. Barton distillery. Whiskey like this was bottled in vast numbers during the dry years and many similar bottles have survived intact to this day. That said they are great to see and would have solid value to collectors. Feel free to send me a note if you’d like more info: antiqueliquors@gmail.com. Cheers, Eric
