    hi collectors I found these old photos I really don't know anything about him how old are they come in a case with felt on the inside in there wrapped in Copper local elections they are about 3 in by 4 in thank you I appreciate the help thank you very much stay safe

      These are early photographs-- look to be ambrotypes (on a sheet of glass) and date from about 1854- 1865.

      It is actually thin stamped brass that is used to make the mattings.

      I have numerous examples of early photographs posted, if you'd like to see others.
