Still unsolved. I've never seen anything like it. First thought was something to clean crystals in during a full moon?? I have no other ideas.

I have a very similar piece but it is make of pottery and size of a serving platter.
I have researched some sycamore burl wood but haven't found anything close to this. Any other ideas?

Thanks so much for comments. We have always enjoyed history and these pieces have intrigued us since finding them in the dirt. Especially the medal as it makes us wonder how it may have ended up her...
