A GI Joe without boots is pretty much useless. Unless it is a frogman and some astronauts. OK that and a couple dress uniforms but basically GI Joe needs his footwear. But apparently there are far fewer boots than there are GI Joes. As I have a pair that have been awaiting boots I bought some off the Bay of e. It was $28 for the pair which seemed reasonable. I was hoping to pick some up in footlocker lot or make a trade. But doing trades over the net seems such a pain. I have this and want to trade for that and back and forth with photos. Anyway I went with trading dollars for boots.
These boots were used by the Action Soldier and Action Marine. used for various Adventure Team sets too but I specialize in the military era sets. Although I do collect AT figures when I run across them such as the Man of Action. See figures 3 and 4.
Note rough edges along the top of the boots. The reissues are smooth and rounded. Much of the reissue pieces were so good it is almost impossible to tell the difference so it was nice they made the boots a bit different.
Wrapping it up. figures 3 and 4 show a Joe with and without boots. Without boots Joe is useless but with boots Joe is ready for action!
