This is the size of a small pack of cigarettes
But...is it Jade?
This appears older maybe pre 1930's

Perhaps Alabaster or Calcite. Jade is quite hard. Can you scratch it on the bottom with a metal edge?

Thanks for your feedback-it does not scratch with a pin and when trying to scratch it glides on the surface.
