In 1955, Alfred Hitchcock was appearing every week and introducing suspenseful little TV dramas on "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".
In 1958, the people at Milton Bradley figured it was the perfect time to have him 'host' a mystery board game called "WHY".
For some reason (probably to save a little money since they had to pay Mr. Hitchcock for using his name and face on the box), they re-used the sturdy cardboard-&-wood character tokens from a game they made in 1950 called "Intrigue".
You could be one of 4 detectives whose names sounded familiar but deftly avoided any further payout of royalties.
There was Shylock Bones, Charlie Clam, Sergeant Monday and (hold onto your hat!) Dick Crazy!
The game was a hit and stayed in production for over 10 years with 4 different versions of the box art.
