Picked this up in Adana Turkey back in the 80s while in the Air Force. I think it was $150.00 new. You could get it assembled or in a box as a kit. I got mine as a kit in order to ship it back home. The chair survived many parties in my younger days and then three kids. It had a piece on the front that went between the rockers. I think it was one of the kids who broke it in two. I didn't mind all that much, because it got in the way when pushing off from the floor in order to rock. Everyone who see's it, comments on it. Have never seen another one in this country until this site. It may not be worth much, but we have enjoyed it a great deal over the years. I'm glad I bought it when I had the chance.

Its a beauty, considering the barley twist look, the old ones have gone down in value as there are so many up for sale. Auctions abound but the value of antiques have taken a nosedive that is hard to recover if ever again.

PhilDMorris you are correct. I don't think many people, if anyone, saw what the internet would do to the antiques markets. That is one reason that I don't get into the business side of antiques. I buy what I think will bring beauty and fun into our home. Trying to predict what people will want is something that is beyond me. There is still a need for antique dealers. I am just not that guy.
