I just bought this piece because she was beautiful and the work looks important. The only thing I see is the distressed label by Charles G Calder providence Rhode Island and see some things on this site that could help date or tell me the artist. Circa 1890?
    Anyone. Know about this?

Charles G. Calder was a prominent art supplier and dealer in Providence in late 1800s to early 1900s. Here’s some history:
      https://docs.rwu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1006&context=cpc_preservation

Also a prior user posted a work with his label on this site years ago, with a suggestion in the comments to contact the RISD Museum for more info:

      Good luck!

Another resource you could check is the Providence Art Club website. Charles G. Calder is listed in their archives as a member in 1880. Maybe someone there could help you with your search.
