Found this and couldn't let it get melted down and recycled. Wondering if this is something one of a kind or produced in some way. The address is no longer valid so I didn't blur it out. Should I clean the sharpie off or does that add cool custom to it. I can't decide!!! Open to all opinions!
Very cool trench art.
Looks to be WW2 era trench art. The shell base is dated 1937 and the object appears to have created in 1941.
Not sure what it is supposed to be— if it has a tight seal, maybe a humidor?
I’d get rid of the modern sharpie but do it carefully as to not remove the brass patina.
Also a photo of the era engraving would be nice to see.
