I TIPPED INTO A SHOP AND THIS LAMP WAS BEHIND THE COUNTER BECAUSE IT DID NOT WORK, I PAID $26 FOR IT, SOMEONE SPRAYED THE LAMP GOLD BUT NO HARM DONE, I LOVE IT ????

Great lamp! I wonder what it weighs?
Great lamp & great price! Those sorts are commonly called "bridge lamps" I think, for the card game. If it is made of cast iron (lots were) I wouldn't be surprised if it has always been painted gold. And it should be really easy to fix?!! :-)
