This is a Sparton console, model 10240,which I have not seen before. It has ten tubes with an Eye tube.
I just picked it up and have not had a chance to get into it,
I was told that it works but I have not tried it yet. The turntable has two speeds, 78 and 33 1 1/3.

All I need now is some information about the turntable. I see it is called the slasher.
So far as I understand it; when the record is done playing an arm lifts the record off the platter and dumps it to the left.
It is a very heavy unit and well built.

Designed to be beautiful to the eye
      My great grandfather Zelmo once
received signals that were broadcast from
      deep inside an Egyptian pyramid
With a receiver just like that one
Not just a radio or a turntable
It was a large heavy piece of furniture that
probably heated the room in the winter time
The placement ,of the tonearm, to ,the platter
